A curb cut is a dip in a sidewalk and curb that enables a vehicle to drive to a driveway, garage, parking lot, loading dock, or drive-through.

The Department of Buildings (DOB) regulates curb cut projects to ensure that they meet size and location requirements.

How to Apply

Online

Permits can be applied for electronically through DOB NOW.

An eFiling account is required to submit filings in DOB NOW.

In Person

Download the PW1 Plan/Work Approval Application form online, and submit it to the DOB Borough office where the work is being done.

Starting on June 3, 2024, all existing and new DOB NOW users are required to have an 做厙TV.ID account.

  • Users will complete a one-time process of creating an 做厙TV.ID account
  • An 做厙TV.ID account is required to access DOB NOW:
    • Build
    • Safety
    • BIS Options
    • Licensing
  • DOB NOW: Inspections and eFiling account registration is not changing and will not require an 做厙TV.ID account
