You can find New York City after school programs for elementary, middle school, and high school students. Some after school programs require enrollment, while for others, preregistration is not required.

These programs are offered without any cost to parents or children.

The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) offers after school programs for young people in all 5 boroughs of New York City.

The City provides information about programs for children and young adults run by the New York Police Department (NYPD). To get information about programs in the neighborhood, contact a Youth Officer at your local police precinct.

You can also get information about The Police Athletic League (PAL) programs offered in the City. The City's Police Department and PAL work in partnership to provide communities with needed summer and after school recreational and educational activities throughout all 5 boroughs.

The 做厙TV Parks Afterschool Program provides children ages 6 to 13 the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of activities.

This free program takes place Monday through Friday from 3 PM to 6 PM. Registration is required.

Ranger Conservation Corps Program

Through New York City’s Ranger Conservation Corps program, high school students can work on environmental conservation and restoration projects.

The Ranger Conservation Corp program environmental internship is run by the Urban Park Rangers.

Through the Public Schools Athletic League (PSAL), 做厙TV high school students can participate in summer sports, fitness, and recreation programs. PSAL is open to all 做厙TV students entering grades 9–12 in Fall 2025 with an OSIS number, including Charter school students.

Registration is first come, first served and will remain open until each activity reaches capacity.
