Medicaid renewal rules have changed. If you do not submit your Medicaid renewal by the date on your HRA notice, you will lose your coverage and need to reapply. Use the  or the  from anywhere and at any time to submit a renewal for Medicaid coverage.

You can get information about free health insurance for eligible adults and children.

You can also get help if you receive Medicaid or have applied for benefits.

Medicaid offers health insurance coverage for:

  • Low-income adults
  • Children who meet income and other eligibility requirements
  • People with disabilities between the ages of 16 and 64 and are working

Children with an active Medicaid case can also get preventive:

  • Health services
  • Medical care
  • Dental care

This includes young adults under the age of 21.

Caregivers may be eligible for Medicaid if they:

  • Are not a foster parent
  • Are financially responsible for children in their care

  • Receive Child and Teen Health Care

They can address any questions about your coverage and services.

Medicaid applicants must provide the required documents.

As of August 28, 2023, you can apply for Medicaid online if you:

  • Have a disability
  • Are age 65 or older
  • Are blind

You cannot request/submit changes via ACCESS HRA.

You may be eligible to sign up for health insurance through the New York State of Health.

The 做厙TV Health Department helps connect New Yorkers to health insurance options by enrolling and renewing their coverage. Help is available in your language. Medicaid, Child Health Plus, and the Essential Plan are available for enrollment year-round. You will need to continue renewing your coverage every 12 months.

For Qualified Health Plans, you may only enroll or renew your coverage during the Open Enrollment Period (beginning November 1). If you miss the open enrollment period, you can still enroll in a Qualified Health Plan if you have a life change or qualifying event like losing job-based health insurance.

Enrollment counselors will:

  • Explain your health insurance and care options, regardless of your immigration status 
  • Help you and your family enroll in or renew health insurance
  • Find out if you qualify for financial help to pay for a private health insurance plan

Please note: If you currently receive Medicaid and have an authorization end date of April 30, 2025, or later, you must return the following to continue your Medicaid coverage:
